| Before starting this xanga entry, I did want to say how much fun I had in Indiana for my sister in law's wedding. Since it was held in the same church and reception hall as our wedding, everything seemed so familiar. It was like living August 12th, 2006 all over again, except this time we could enjoy the food, cake and didn't have to mingle with everyone. =) Of course, I would never trade our wedding day for any other day in the world. With that being said, life is good although pretty crazy. I had to drop my investments class since there was simply too much going on and the class required quite a bit of work and practice. I might take it again in the spring, if there is more time and if I'm up for it. With school, working at PFM part time and looking for work post graduation, things are pretty hectic. The economy and politics don't help much either. I'm a bit worried about job prospects with all this bad news and pretty disgusted with Wall Street's disgusting greed and Washington's lack of leadership to get anything done (and then finger pointing at each other! What happened to putting aside differences to figure out solutions??). I'm glad to be learning all this from the safe confines of school but it still is scary knowing that one of my former employers that was "too big to fail" was proven wrong by being bought out. I guess with all that is going on, one thing is certain, and that is that God is in control. Things can't always be rosy and picture perfect all the time, and this turbulence could last a little while. But it's not going to be forever, and it's incredibly freeing knowing that God is there no matter what. Thoughts? Actions? Reflections? | | |
| After a wonderful trip to California (and it would take forever to go through it all) Kristi and I have arrived back in DC safely and somewhat ready to start the school year. It was a great vacation and time of seeing family and friends again. Anyhow, the first week of school has already passed (for me, half for Kristi) and it's looking like a busy, loaded schedule for both of us. That being said, our last semesters should be a little easier, depending on the job situation. Interviews are already on the horizon for me, so we're already full swing into fall. Katie's wedding is coming up soon too! We both had a wonderful summer in DC working, taking day and weekend trips, visiting family and friends in Indiana and California, and even enjoying a little class (on my side). If you're curious about the classes that second year MBA students take, here's what my class schedule is this fall: Monday: Business Analysis & Data Design Tuesday: Consulting Methodologies and Practices, Financial Institutions Thursday: Strategy in a Global Environment, Corporate Governance, Investment Analysis/Portfolio Management That's what's going on here. Oh and throw in 15-20 hours week of work for me, I'll be back at PFM for the fall. I'm excited about all that is to come! | | |
| I'm home! We'll be all over California. I'm looking forward to it! | | |
